Everything you need to know about cuticle remover

Alkaline or acidic? Gel Liquid or foam? When choosing a remover, it's not enough to focus only on the format. It's important to understand how each type works and in which cases it will be the best choice.
Let's look at what removers are, how they differ, and how to use them correctly.

What is cuticle remover?
The remover helps soften cuticles and pterygium so that they are easier to remove during manicure. Thanks to its special composition, the product acts quickly and makes the work of the master easier.

Remover formats

  • Liquid solution;
  • Gel;
  • Foam;
  • Spray.

Which format to choose is a matter of habit and personal preference.

Types of removers:

  • Alkaline
    The gentlest option. These removers gently soften cuticles and are suitable for both professional and home use.
  • Acidic
    They contain fruit, lactic or salicylic acids, so they work much faster. The exposure time is usually only 20–30 seconds. Due to the active ingredients, they require careful use and may not be suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Maslyani
    Their task is not to remove the cuticle, but to soften it as much as possible. They are best suited for dry, thin and sensitive skin.
  • Mineral
    Contains minerals that help maintain a well-groomed appearance of the cuticle and nail plate.

How to use remover correctly
For the product to work effectively and not affect the quality of the coating, it is important to perform each step sequentially.

  1. Apply a few drops of remover to the cuticle.
  2. It is more convenient to work with five fingers of one hand at once.
  3. Gently push back the cuticles with a pusher and leave the product on for about 20–30 seconds.
  4. Rinse the remover thoroughly with water.
  5. Get a manicure.
  6. Be sure to wash your hands with warm water, with soap if necessary.
  7. Apply cuticle oil.

How does remover affect the wear of the coating?

This nuance is often underestimated. If the residue of the remover is not washed off, it can affect the adhesion of the material. As a result, the coating may begin to peel off. Therefore, after use, the remover must be completely washed off with water, if necessary - with soap.
